Even though it seems like E3 just wrapped up, the team at Hudson is already back on the road for our next big show. Where are we going this time around? None other than the world-famous San Diego Comic-Con International!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the grand-daddy of enthusiast conventions in America, here is a little background on the convention. Although it started out as a convention that focused on graphic novels, as its name would suggest, over the years it has become a hub for all things pop culture including movies, anime, video games, and collectible card games to name a few. To sum it up simply, it’s become the place to go for anyone who regularly escapes reality as a hobby. Visiting Comic-Con will make you feel like you’re departing reality in and of itself though as it’s impossible to miss the creative and devoted cosplayers who swarm downtown San Diego that particular weekend. That’s pretty much Comic-Con in a nutshell but for a first-hand account you can check out an old feature a Hudson staffer did on a personal visit a couple years back.
For us video game folks officially attending as exhibitors though, Comic-Con is a great chance to show off our new or upcoming titles with announcements, previews, or hands-on demonstrations to the adoring public. It’s always a pleasure to be presenting our games at an event that is packed with so many enthusiastic fans. This year we’ll be featuring Bonk: Brink of Extinction, DECA SPORTS 3, BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion, and Oops! Prank Party.

Seriously though, it's all about the fans.
With Bonk: Brink of Extinction, Comic-Con visitors will get a chance to experience Bonk’s epic return to consoles in this downloadable title available on Xbox LIVE Arcade, WiiWare, and Playstation Network. If you’re going to be at Comic-Con be sure to stop by the Hudson booth and check out some classic platforming goodness with your favorite big-headed caveman.

Bonk co-op. Bringing gamers together.
Another big presence at Comic-Con will be DECA SPORTS 3 where gamers will be able to experience 6 of the 10 new complete sporting events and the difference that the addition of Wii MotionPlus™ and Master Mode can make. Comic-Con attendees will be able to participate in Lacrosse, Air Racing, Giant Slalom, Halfpipe, Log Cutting, and Fencing! These are sporting events that you won't find in many other games so be sure to take a look at DECA SPORTS 3 to get a unique sporting fix.
For the anime fans that’ll no doubt show up in droves this weekend we have BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion which takes the high-paced, frenetic Beyblade action from the popular anime and captures it as exciting video games for Wii and DS. Tournament play and competition is big at these conventions and while there is probably a real-life Beyblade tournament happening somewhere at the Con there’s no reason why Beyblade and video game fans alike shouldn’t stop by and try out the virtual tournament in BEYBLADE: Metal Fusion.

Rounding out our Comic-Con lineup is Oops! Prank Party which is a brand new party game for Wii that has various ways to prank opponents’ in-game characters and ridicule them with zany costumes and pranks. Give it a try! You’d be surprised at just how amusing it is on a primal level to make someone wear a monkey suit after handling them in a particularly vigorous minigame. Unfortunately, we can’t promise that our outfits in game will be more outrageous than some you might see in the exhibit hall.

Remember, Comic-Con will be taking place from July 22-25 and Hudson will be there every day! If you’re one of the lucky few who bought tickets before they sold out, be sure to visit us at our booth and check out the fun that we have to offer. If you aren’t attending Comic-Con then don’t despair! We’ll be sure to post a Comic-Con recap next week so that all our fans will be up to speed.
